Recent advances in orthodontic technology have made it possible to move teeth with less pressure by using smaller, more comfortable appliances.
The old bands that used to be forced around the teeth have been replaced by miniature pieces of orthodontic jewelry, called brackets, which are attached to the teeth with a little dab of glue. We then slip a wire made of space age metals through the brackets. The wire, which is extremely flexible, then helps to align the teeth. The archwire is bent to achieve your “ideal” bite…the goal of your treatment. As the wire tries to return to its original shape, it applies pressure that actually moves your teeth through bone.
You will find your teeth to be sensitive after the initial bracketing appointment and after adjustments, so don’t be afraid to take a couple of Ibuprofen for comfort.
This technology has also allowed us to treat our patients more efficiently by using fewer appointments.
I Had Came An Seen You on augest 25 ,2011 an so how long will it take too see if i can even get themm
Hey Kiaura! Actually you came in on September 12th, and with Soonercare (the insurance you are on) it usually takes about 3 months for them to process the request for orthodontic care. We already sent it to them long ago, so all we can do is wait until they process. Gotta love medicaid LOL! You’ll get a letter from them once they approve/deny your case so call us once you get it.
How will i know if they deny for me to get braces?
They will send you a letter either way (yes or no) so watch the mail!
