The traditional treatment involving tying archwires in with elastic ties causes friction. This involves heavier forces to move the teeth, resulting in a longer treatment time.

Hi Jean, I charge $500 more for Damon brackets compared to my standard brackets, but that may be less than what you are being quoted elsewhere. And I don’t push any one system of brackets because your daughter’s case may not even benefit from the Damon brackets (it depends on what type of tooth movement is required). Damon has lots of fancy marketing, and some orthodontists insist that all patients use Damon brackets (because they charge more for it). If you want an appointment for an exam to discuss your daughter’s situation specifically, give our office a call. There is no charge.
